IMPORTANT: Only Canadians who have already been married, who are divorced or widowed, need to contact a lawyer who is a member of a Canadian bar in order to obtain a certificate of custom and marital capacity in order to be able to marry in France. Canadians who have always been single can obtain their certificate of custom directly from the consular services of the Embassy of Canada in Paris.
