Temporary residence
It should be noted that most foreign visitors need a permit to study or work temporarily in Canada.
Work permit (temporary) : A work permit is usually required to come and work temporarily in Canada. Generally, a work permit will only be issued if there is no qualified candidate available in Canada to fill the position. However, for some jobs, no work permit is required.
Visas for business visitors : A business visitor is defined as a person who intends to do international business in Canada without directly entering the Canadian labour market, and whose main source of income and main place of business is outside of Canada. While business visitors do not need a work permit to enter Canada, they may need a temporary resident visa (TRV) depending on their nationality.
Study permit : Generally, a study permit is required to come and study in Canada. However, some exceptions exist, such as for educational programs or courses of less than six months. It should be noted that minor children accompanying their parents to Canada must obtain a study permit in order to to enroll in an educational establishment during their stay in Canada.
Temporary resident permit : Obtaining a temporary resident permit may be necessary for people who are inadmissible for penal/criminal reasons, violation of Canadian immigration laws, or for health reasons.
